It seems the US now has at least one openly atheist member of congress.
I don't know whether to laugh, cry or throw up.

Strictly speaking he may not be "Athiest". He claims to be a Unitarian Non-Thiest. I'm not sure how his self-definition works to compartmentalize his skepticism but if he himself does not lay claim to the title of Athiest, then perhaps he's just standing on the line between skepticism and credulity.
Yeah, I heard the 'non-theist' description in radio coverage of the incident and it didn't seem to indicate the full blown atheism declarative we might hope for.
