Despite the length of time that has passed since Kasparov was defeated by Deep Blue, chess masters continue to test themselves willingly against chess programs - often under conditions that are decidedly unfriendly to the human player.

One day in the future chess programs should routinely clean the clocks of even the best human players - and while that seems an inevitability I still can't help but cheer for us scrappy homo-sapiens to hold on as long as we can.
